Waterlines Get SINISTER On New Single - Out Now!
Fresh from their earth shaking, career best (so far) performance at Bloodstock Open Air Festival last weekend, Northern UK EDM metalcore powerhouses Waterlines are delighted to bring you their brand new single, Sinister!
First showcased by Waterlines on the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock this past Saturday, Sinister is the culmination of everything that has led Waterlines to this point so far. Hard riffs, fierce beats and the ever expanding vocal powers of frontman Benji Mars? Check. The heaviest growls? Check. Beautiful soaring melodies? Check. There's nothing this man cannot do - all in the same song!
Sinister is out now and can be streamed on this link.
For the video for Sinister, the band have taken things back in time with a retro, 80's style colour scheme mixed with an eight bit graphical style mixed with modern production. Don't take our word for it - just watch the video below!
For more about Sinister's creation, we hand over to the previously mentioned man of a thousand vocal styles, Ben Mars:
"Sinister was written at a time when I felt that I wasn’t the architect of my own life, I felt that my happiness and my sadness were dictated to me. So, in classic Waterlines fashion, this song is my way of spitting out the bile and taking back the power to choose. To decide when I want to be happy, when I want to be sad, and when I just want everyone to leave me the fuck alone.
Also I like breakdowns, so there’s that too…"
Whether you were at Bloodstock or you've just heard about how good they were, there are more upcoming chances to see Waterlines in the flesh very soon. From club nights to all day festivals, Waterlines will be bringing the party to a town or city near you soon.
Bloodstock is followed by some Autumn festivals, with appearances at Amplified Festival in Sheffield and with Hometown Festival at The Hairy Dog in Derby. A return to Manchester for Slammer Festival in October is also on the cards, and in November, hot off the press Waterlines will be joining the stacked lineup for Reading Rising 2025.
There are also a couple more shows to talk about! Waterlines are part of Eschalon presents at The Six Six in Cambridge on August 24th, one of the UK's fastest rising small venues for rock and metal. They are also playing London's renown metal club night Voodoo on the 29th of August alongside Mimi Barkz!

About Waterlines
Having burst into life in November 2022, Waterlines hit the ground running at full steam and haven't stopped since. Their incendiary live shows have already reached must see status, they've made fans around the UK and beyond, and have been impressing the rock and metal music press since their debut single The Halo Around The Horns.
From being included in Metal Hammers' tracks of the year with Prey to doing such a good job at Bloodstock Open Air 2023 headlining the Jagermeister Stage that they've been invited back and upgraded to the Sophie Stage in 2025, there's never a dull moment with Waterlines. They've shared stages with the likes of Polar, Seething Akira, Confessions Of A Traitor, Black Coast, Eschalon and many more awesome bands; they are the band nobody wants to follow on from live.
Before Christmas last year they covered dance legends Ultrabeat's classic songs Pretty Green Eyes & Elysium and put them together as a dance metal mashup which has already become a firm live favourite. 2024 saw them honing their live show even further and releasing the brutal single BRACE. 2025 has brought their first full EP, and a series of show stealing festival appearances culminating in THAT Bloodstock performance last weekend. Waterlines are blowing up, are you ready?
