“SHE WAS DREAMING”
Intimate Portrayal Of A Woman's Life Journey
A Swoon-Worthy, Rockabye Listening Experience
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ohio-based indie roots, folk rock band, Wishgarden, has announced the release of its newest single titled “She Was Dreaming.”* Written and produced by Wishgarden band leader and lead singer, Tony Paparella, the tune showcases Paparella's knack for intricate, filmic, story-driven lyrics and offers a glimpse of what’s to come in 2026 from this effervescent supergroup. The original tune is AVAILABLE NOW via digital retail outlets and streaming platforms.
Expressive of the title, "She Was Dreaming" captures fantastical scenes–the contrast between youth and maturity, the passage of time, aging, and the power of recollections and callings. The whimsical opener, featuring lush acoustic guitar, organ and a rich tapestry of heavenly harmonies, evokes cinematic imagery of a young woman dancing in a misty haze.
Lyrics portray melancholy memories canvassing life's hopeful anticipations, fears, and devotions, and the journey from youth to fulfilled maturity, and climbing Jacob's ladder. A poignant representation, the conveyance is an atmospheric blend of realism, reflections and surrealism; the storyline pays homage to a woman's journey (a child, a daughter, and a mother) and her enduring character.
She dreamt of her life as a woman, a mother
A girl picking daisies, nights in her youth
A young woman’s passion, a new mother’s fear,
A wife’s devotion, a grandparent’s tear
She was dreaming of heaven last night
Thoughts of her mother in a misty moonlight
The lives of her children, the life of her own,
Lives of her lovers when she was alone
She dreamed, she dreamed
Tasteful chord voicing complemented by hypnotic, soft-folk soundscapes lends an elegance to the heartfelt musical narration; each guitar strum and vocal phrase feels intentional and deeply resonant. Polished, fastidious production creates an intimate, swoon-worthy, rockabye experience.
"Our lives each have their own story arc–from childhood to young adult, to married-with-children, to maturity and the last chapter….the last moment," said songwriter/producer, Tony Paparella. "I wanted to capture that…to write a song with a sensitive and introspective storyline. Hand-in-hand, the instrumentation and vocals speak to the lyrical and musical themes."
Recorded at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, the recording spotlights performances by band members, Tony Paparella on lead vocals, and the seasoned musicianship of Mike Lenz (lead guitar) and Daniel Kshywonis on drums.
"We have grand appreciation for Spencer Coats at Fame Studios for sharing the vision and bringing it to life; his talents were exemplary in steering the creative direction," added Paperalla.
This release is the first in a series of recordings produced at Fame Studios (with the remaining scheduled to roll out throughout 2026).
