Would you like to feature the new single “More Beautiful Than Madonna” by Pamplemousse / share the video now and / or review the new “Porcelain” album?

Biography:

Pamplemousse was born on Reunion Island in February 2016. After a year locked away in their rehearsal space, the band released their debut album in 2017 on the A Tant Rêver du Roi label (France). Recorded by themselves, with home-made visuals in a purely DIY logic, this eponymous debut album lays the foundations for a noise rock tainted with abrasive blues far from the sunny postcard of Indian Ocean. For the release of their second album “High Strung” in 2019, still on A Tant Rêver du Roi, Pamplemousse went off to record in analog at Studio Black Box in Angers with Peter Deimel (Chokebore, Shellac, Cows..). Both recordings are acclaimed by national (Rolling Stone, New Noise, Mowno, etc.) and international (Maximum R'n'R, KEXP, BBC6) media. Glowing comparisons abound with masters of the genre from the 90s scene, and Shellac, Fugazi, Girls vs Boys and Chokebore, as well as the labels Amphetamine Reptile and Touch ‘n’ Go, are all mentioned when referring to the power trio from Reunion Island.

One can enjoy the urgency of listening to Pamplemousse’s music live, their thunderous sound emancipates itself from the Noise, Garage, Punk, Grunge or even the Stoner styles. The band has toured extensively in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and Spain, sharing the stage with Unsane (NYC), Lysistrata, It It Anita, Fuzz (Ty Segall), Cash Savage and The Last Drinks and Flat Worms, among others.

In 2021, Pamplemousse changed their line-up and it was now as a duo that the band locked themselves away for a year to compose their third album, “Think Of It”. Recorded in 2022 at the Black Box by Peter Deimel, and mixed by them in their studio on Reunion Island, it was released in March 2023. With this new formula, Sarah (drums) and Nico (guitar/vocals) continue to shape the band's style: edgy, wild, but they also broaden their spectrum and lean towards indie rock, as on the heady “One Millions Doors”.

2024 marks another change, with the duo packing up and moving to Lorraine (East of France). Pamplemousse continued to rehearse and compose for the follow-up to their album “Think of It”.

At the end of 2024, the duo returned for the third time to the Black Box studio in Angers with Peter Deimel in charge of the recording and mastering.

The result is “Porcelain”, an uncompromisingly abrasive fourth album to be released on September 26, 2025, still on  A Tant Rêver du Roi label. From the introductory “More Beautiful Than Madonna”, with its noise-rock fury and brilliant video, to the final track “Brick Head”, with its hypnotic guitars, and the indie punk gem “Bad Penny”, “Porcelain” excels in controlled chaos.
