15 years is a long time when your band is called Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. A product
of its time as much you and I; ‘The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager’ is celebrating its 15th Anniversary.
Performing the album live in its original form (complete with rhythm and horn section), Sam Duckworth will be heading to Grimsby’s Docks Academy on Friday 8th April.
Part of his 15th anniversary UK tour, Duckworth says of the special show:
“It’s incredible to think that 15 years on I’ll be returning to my favourite venues and playing this album. So much has changed and yet so much is still familiar. I’m looking forward to seeing how we’ve all grown and throwing it back to some myspace ’06 energy."
Straddling the gap between the CD and the download, ‘Chronicles…’ was the perfect soundtrack for those who fall in the generation gap between Gen X and Millennial.
Pre-Introducing, pre-Spotify and even pre-iTunes, the seaside laptop folk from 20 year-old Sam Duckworth set the blueprint for the modern singer songwriter. 1000+ shows an 100,000+ sales later, ‘Chronicles’ is still a relevant soundtrack to a country wrestling with issues of racial integration, supply chain, workforce and itself.
Reacquaint yourself with this much-loved album when Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. plays Grimsby Docks Academy this Spring. Support comes from Grimsby’s own DANIEL CLIFFE. A singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Grimsby, Daniel Cliffe has played headline shows in the UK, Thailand & Spain, as well as supporting artists such as Peter Doherty, Jake Bugg, Stephen Fretwell, Saint Raymond, James McCartney and Sleaford Mods to name a few. His debut album 'The Early Years' is out now on all major streaming platforms.
BLAB will also support across the evening.
