"A super-soft, folky lullaby, full of complex guitars that interweave to create a hazey, dreamlike texture as Pickard unpicks his struggles and lays them out for all to see." The Line Of Best Fit

"His worn-down sound is reminiscent of bands like Real Estate at their most mellow." NME

“Taking up a similar soundscape to The War on Drugs and Fleet Foxes, Tarragon add their own spices to the mix.” The Rodeo

Despite being only 26-years-old, the road towards releasing his debut album has been a long one to walk for Coventry based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Callum Pickard. Now recording and performing under the name Tarragon, he is gearing up to release I’ve Just Seen A Scene on June 17th via Luna Sky Recordings. Over the past four years, Pickard has been honing his craft, writing and recording his debut album with a whole host of his dream collaborators. Self-funded as a Deliveroo cyclist, Pickard has collaborated with an array of incredible virtuoso musicians including Dave Hartley and Robbie Bennett (The War on Drugs), JT Bates (Bon Iver/Taylor Swift), John Helliwell (Supertramp), John Waugh (The 1975), Matthew McCaughan, Mike Noyce (Bon Iver), CJ Camerieri (CARM/Paul Simon) and Aaron Sterling (Leonard Cohen, John Mayer) to bring his songs to life and has created a debut that deftly deals with maturing into young adulthood and the emotional growing pains & frustration that come with that. New single, ‘Revise The Moments’, is a sweet sounding ode to making mistakes. It’s a sentiment that’s found across I’ve Just Seen A Scene, the notion of getting things wrong. Of his new single, Pickard says: "There’s always an expectation in response to everything you do, whether that be a target you set for yourself, or one that is set by others. Mistakes are inevitable and success is never guaranteed. In fact, it feels like the obstacles are there to deliberately trip you up and when you don’t succeed it always feels like you are letting someone down. 'Revise the Moments' is really my musings on this conundrum." In many ways, I’ve Just Seen A Scene is a coming of age record, the 11 songs that make up the album mostly have their origins in Pickard’s teenage years. But what sets this record apart is the sheer ambition and meticulousness of its young creator. Years of experimentation and finesse have gone into the recording resulting in a debut album that sounds as accomplished as it does exciting.
