“Dreamy pop bop.” - DIY “The Brighton band match literate indie pop to some scuzzed up production, adding a lo-fi feel to their melodic perfection.” – CLASH MAGAZINE “Woozy riffs and tons of chill” - TMRW MAGAZINE “Marrying pop sensibility with a distinctive sugary lo-fi edge” - INDIE CENTRAL MUSIC “Pure baby making music” – JACK SAUNDERS (BBC RADIO ONE)
[5th March 2021] Rising Brighton quartet Ralph TV reveals the sensational, Wes Anderson inspired ‘4 U’ music video. Complimenting the band’s latest dreamy, bedroom pop single; the video had its first look with DIY and is available to watch now via French indie label Nice Guys. Collaboratively produced by frontman Will Osborne and his sister Molly whilst in lockdown; the video takes inspiration from the Wes Anderson classic ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’. Using the filming technique of stop-motion, the pair produced this colourful visual from their own home, creatively using everyday fabrics and objects. The use of symmetry, typography and a bright colour pallet allows the viewer to be fully immersed in the playful and striking visual. Will adds: “This video is a very happy accident. I went home for Christmas to see the family and ended up being locked down with them for a few months. Me and my sister have always shared a creative eye, and thanks to all the free time, we were able to put this video together using bits from around the house. I now have an even bigger admiration for stop motion animators because even putting together something fairly small scale like this took a mad amount of time and precision to craft.” Written and produced by the band - ‘4 U’ starts with heavenly synths and transcends with a funk inspired beat that emphasises the echoing vocal as they call the attention of a love interest. ‘4 U’ has gain praise from BBC Introducing Sussex as well as With Guitars and Indie Central Music so far – listen now HERE. ‘4 U’ follows on from Ralph TV’s well-received debut album, appropriately titled Cabin Fever Dreams that was released in March 2020. The LP was an introduction to the band’s uniquely eccentric yet charming lo-fi sound. They’ve received support from Official Charts, CLASH, tmrw Magazine, 1883 Magazine, Noctis Magazine, Spindle Magazine and was a part of Levi’s global music activation #501Live series last year. In addition, they’ve picked up praise from BBC Radio One DJs Annie Mac (‘New Name’ endorsed), Huw Stephens and Jack Saunders. Ralph TV first hit our screens in 2018 with their self-titled debut EP generating over a million streams on Spotify. Also, off the back of this success, the four-piece performed a sold-out date in Paris, homecoming performances at The Great Escape, supporting Self Esteem on part of her UK tour and sharing the stage with the likes of Jerry Paper, Aldous RH and Brad Stank. The band draws influence from an eclectic range of artists including classic pop icons like Sade, Brian Wilson and Shuggie Otis to the current sounds of HOMESHAKE, Jerry Paper and Faye Webster. Formed by childhood friends Ben Brown (guitar/synth/vocal) and Will Osborne (vocal/bass) - the project was initially named Ralph’s World. However, after the threat of legal action by a children’s entertainer in Chicago using the same name, it was changed to Ralph TV. The project was then relocated from Essex to Brighton where they met brothers Isaac (drums/vocal) and Luke (lead guitar/vocal) Vosper who now complete the line-up.
