Songs On Repeat - November 2021

Plush - Hate (2021)

Sounding uncannily like Halestorm, Hate doesn’t just hit a nerve it’s like being smacked in the face with a rock. Powerful lyrics from girls who haven’t even left their teens yet.

Fresh - Girl Clout (2021)

Sounding incredibly British Girl Clout is 1 minute 59 seconds of raw, female fronted punk perfection. From the first listen this song embedded itself in my head ever since.

The Prettiots - Suicide Hotline (2016)

This song features jangly and simplistic ukulele coupled with lyrics that offer an interesting take on mental health. This song is both incredibly catchy and equally thought provoking.

Lush - 500 (Shake Baby Shake) (1996)

Although this is well over 20 years old I still love it today as much as I did when I first heard it back in college and once I finally realised it’s about a car it suddenly made so much more sense!

The Crooks - In Time (2020)

Sounding like something straight out of a Shine compilation this song stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it and has been on repeat since then.

Lili Trifilio - Cycles (2019)

Raw sound and captivating lyrics. This song is hauntingly beautiful, filled with so much pain and emotion. I was mesmerised from the first time I heard it.

Heather Nova - Walk this World (1994)

This song is a fantastic example of pretentious female rock. The kind of song then when you’re walking through town and it comes on your headphones you can feel yourself walk a bit taller and strut with a bit more meaning.

Bleached - Hard to Kill (2019)

Kind of indie, kind of electronica this song isn’t really what I’d normally listen to but it's catchy, it's fun and I’m obsessed!
