ALDERS introduce themselves with hypnotic debut ‘Desire Paths’
A new collaborative project from Aaron Graham (Banfi, Maya Delilah) and Richard Walters (LYR), ALDERS arrives with Desire Paths — a quietly bold debut that merges analogue electronics, field recordings, and expansive vocals into something richly layered and emotionally resonant.
Written and recorded remotely over the course of a year, Desire Paths is the first in a series of EPs planned for 2025 — each building on a shared fascination with atmosphere, texture, and space. The project balances sonic curiosity with deep-rooted songwriting, resulting in something both intimate and cinematic.
Visuals for ALDERS are handled by acclaimed South-West-based artist Stephen Smith, aka Neasden Control Centre, whose tactile, handmade aesthetic brings a vivid physicality to the project’s identity.
Aaron Graham brings over 15 years of experience as a composer and producer, with a background in sound design for brands including Louis Vuitton, Guinness, and GQ. Richard Walters, meanwhile, continues to build on a singular career as a solo artist and collaborator — his past work ranging from co-writes with Alison Moyet, Solomun and DeadMau5 to his role in LYR, the Simon Armitage-fronted group praised for its genre-defying approach to music and poetry.
