Manchester ALT-ROCK Band DR DR release blistering new single 'VULTURES' and EP
ABOUT 'VULTURES'
The realisation that I know a lot of people but don’t necessarily have a lot of “Friends” was a big moment in my life. Vultures is a self reflection on this time. In the song I use ‘the vultures’ as a metaphor for my darkest moments. “Where were you when the vultures came around?”
There was a moment in my life where I nearly ended it. The reality is I didn’t actually want to die I was just consumed by crippling mental torment & didn’t know how to handle such pain that had been building for years. It’s thanks to a very select group of people that thankfully I’m still here. They know who they are but I don’t think they will ever know how grateful I am. Although this song isn’t for them, it’s for my “Friends”. Fred Farrell – DR DR
ABOUT THE EP - VULTURES
The Vultures EP is definitely an exploration for the band. We’re still evolving. Having only been a collective for just over a year we decided make as much music as possible without constraints of having to have a sound or a specific genre. It’s a transitional period. The EP is a selection of our personal favourites & a hint towards what you can expect from us in the future. We write music that we love to listen to ourselves but we’re also very excited to share it with the world so people can create their own meaning & connections with the songs. Fred Farrell – DR DR

DR DR - BIO
DR DR from Manchester bring a mixture of heavy, dissonant riffs and dark vocal imagery littered with a cacophony of aggression, skin tattoos and the wild thrashings of the maniac within.
DR DR have exploded onto the scene, selling out volcanic headline shows, receiving consistent airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Lancashire & Cumbria & XS Manchester, and their debut EP Concussion amassing over 100,000 plays on Spotify.
Born in the isolated depths of the COVID-19 pandemic against a shared backdrop of frustration, depression and psychological imprisonment, DR DR tackle the universal experiences of mental and emotional turmoil with a volcanic live show that is littered with a cacophony of aggression, skin tattoos and the wild thrashings of the maniac within. If it can be climbed on, it will be climbed on.
Their music brings a mixture of heavy, dissonant riffs and dark vocal imagery, borne of a desire to therapize both themselves and the audience, seeking catharsis for the inner struggles of humanity like addiction, depression, anger and hopelessness through the most universal language in the world: Music. DR DR ceaselessly endeavour to take the frantic mess of emotions that we all carry inside us and truly unleash it. Whether at a live show or just listening at home, they implore you to do the same.
