Charlottetown, Canada rock trio ABSOLUTE LOSERS today reveal their new single ‘At The Same Time’, set for release on 19th August 2025 via all good digital service providers.
Marking the debut vocal performance of guitarist Josh Langille, ‘At The Same Time’ is a simple, heavy-hitting rock and roll song, born in the green room of the Marquee Ballroom in Halifax before the band’s set opening for TUNS.
The song proved to be a launch pad for the sound of the new album—’60s inspired rock with a focus on harmony, which has been compared to acts from the ‘90s Halifax scene. This proved a fitting association, as it was in fact written between hangs with members of Sloan, Superfriendz, Flashing Lights, and The Inbreds.
Commenting on the track, Josh says: “‘At The Same Time’ is for burnt out love quitters who are quick to identify someone’s downsides. Musically, it’s directed at people who have seen and enjoyed The Who’s ‘Live at Leeds’, with Daniel’s Keith Moon-inspired, unhinged drumming. It’s concise, alive, and frankly, loud.”
Recorded with acclaimed producer Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck) at Palace Sound in Toronto, the single was mastered by Mikey Young (The Chats, King Gizzard, Amyl and the Sniffers).
The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming new album, In The Crowd, set for release on 26th September 2025 via Having Fun Records, the new imprint from Toronto’s renowned We Are Busy Bodies.
Unlike their 2023 Music PEI Award-winning, childhood-basement lockdown-produced, debut album At The Mall, the trio went all in this time around, spending fourteen-hour days in the studio, fully immersed in the process. Walsh not only produced but also engineered and mixed the record, helping to bring the band’s expanded vision to life.
The album’s lead single and title track ‘In The Crowd’ was released earlier this year, drawing early attention from Billboard Canada, Exclaim! Magazine, Maximum Volume and more.
The three piece will be playing a run of August 2025 Canadian tour dates in support of the album, with a one-off special UK headline date on 16th September at The Strongroom Bar, London (see below for listings).
