Chewy Soliloqui share single ‘Allegations’
Kansas City, MO – Following the chaotic charm of their 2024 debut Chew On This, Kansas City’s genre-bending quintet Chewy Soliloqui returns with Chew On This 2 — a more daring, textured follow-up that cements the band’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of alternative rock. The EP is set to release digitally on July 18, 2025, through their DIY label, Just Joking Art Records.
The first single, “Allegations,” is a swirling descent into subconscious dread, balancing driving bass, atmospheric guitar, and raw vocal tension.
Recorded this time around at Avenue Records Co. with audio engineer Matt Richards, this project displays a more mature turn for the band. From the hypnotic repetition of “Ghost” to the beautiful solo of “Allegations,” Chew On This 2 is a tightly-wound 4-track experience that doesn’t ask for permission — it kicks in the door.
“This release is a continuation of us sharpening our identity,” says bassist/producer Heber I. Alarcon, “but it’s also us exorcising some sonic ghosts. These songs are personal. Raw. We recorded most of them live to keep that real-time electricity.”
Chewy Soliloqui — made up of Ben Hadley (guitar/vocals), Aleks Ortiz (drums), Luis Reyes (guitar/vocals), and Heber I. Alarcon (bass/vocals/production/art direction) — formed during early 2024 and reunited after years of musical hiatus from previous bands. Chewy Soliloqui has since begun to carve a cult reputation across KC’s underground circuit. Their music blends psychedelic textures, grunge-inspired riffage, and real life experience lyricism into something both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
Fans and newcomers alike are invited to their EP release show on Thursday, July 17 at El Torreon in Kansas City.
Chew On This 2 will be available on all major streaming platforms July 18, with limited-edition physical merch and handmade EPs available at the release show via the merch booth.
This is more than an EP. It’s an expansion of Chewy Soliloqui’s dreamworld — a loud, poetic world where vulnerability meets volume.
