Daniel Webster releases single ‘There's a Way Out (Golden Kiss)’
Daniel Webster is a multi instrumentalist musician from Yorkshire who writes and self-produces his SONGS. His compositions foreground big gooey melodies which are underpinned by fuzzy/jazzy chords. He has a free-ranging approach to genre and a healthy defiance of what can be said or done within the form – unexpected twists and darkly humorous turns of phrase with a wink to the audience are very much his thing. His upcoming album Um Die Ecke grew out of some dark months where those comforting 70s and 80s gold-selling albums suddenly made sense: the positive collective spirit, direct earnest/ironic lyrics, musical nerdiness and unashamedly big endorphin-release choruses all made their way into this album. The first two singles ‘Tall Shadows’ and ‘There’s a Way Out (Golden Kiss)’ are already available, with their promo videos – but advance Soundcloud streams of the album can be sampled below.
