Down and Dirty Bluesy Rock and Roll Stomper: The Bad Wires – Leading Man
LISTEN TO ‘LEADING MAN’ HERE NOW
THE BAD WIRES are the Manchester based three piece rock and roll band who are bringing the noise with their high octane, blues infused, punky indie belters.
Made up of Danny Waterson on lead vocals and guitar, Ellis Wilson on bass and Tim Dixon on drums, their dirty, bluesy, guitar driven tunes are reminiscent of artists such as Jack White, The Black Keys and The Stooges, while also managing to stay quintessentially British in their lyrical and vocal attack.
There’s also a cinematic edge to their music that they credit to the same sort of vibe of artists like Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys.
Having spent 2024 rehearsing, perfecting and recording their sound, The Bad Wires unleashed their debut single ‘Wisecracks’ at the beginning of 2025 to much praise and repeated plays from the likes of the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer on his Sirus XM radio show in America.
The band’s debut track also clocked up numerous plays across the globe in the UK, Australia, USA, Canada and South Africa.
Having started as they mean to go on, the band are now back with their follow-up single, the infectious, blues stomper ‘Leading Man’.
‘Leading Man’ is a guitar and drum driven indie rock stomper focusing on the heavier side of the genre to brilliant effect. The down and dirty rock and roll vibe of the track is further added to by the punchy and gravelly vocals befitting of a true rock star. It's the perfect high octane blues infused anthem for those who like to feel their music rather than just hear it!
The band have said of the track:-
“This track is something we’ve chopped and changed over time, it’s always been in the background, it started off completely different and has slowly evolved into a bluesy rocker.“
‘Wisecracks’ was written by Danny Waterson and was recorded at Airtight Studios in Manchester and Produced by Seadna McPhail.
