DZ DEATHRAYS SHARE THEIR LATEST OFFERING 'SIDEWAYS'
AHEAD OF EU/UK SUMMER TOUR WITH
PRESS CLUB, BATTLESNAKE AND
MANNEQUIN DEATH SQUAD
On the eve of their upcoming Euro UK Summer Tour dates, DZ Deathrays have today released new single ‘Sideways’, via their own imprint DZ Worldwide. Alongside a set of headline shows, the band will be appearing across festivals Rock For People alongside Linkin Park, Fontaines D.C., Biffy Clyro; Mighty Sounds with FIDLAR and 2000trees with Kneecap and more. LISTEN HERE + WATCH HERE.
Backed by DZ Deathrays’ signature style, ‘Sideways’ reams with oscillating riffage and percussion – brash with adrenalin and joyful skylarking. Arriving with a music video directed by James Latter, and funded through support from Bundaberg Regional Council, ‘Sideways’ harnesses the group’s consistency in both sound and ethos, as the band let rip across a picturesque farmsite.
Of the release, Shane Parsons reveals, "Lachy actually dreamt the riff in this song and somehow we turned it into a woozy dance punk track. I like the way this track almost makes you feel like you're on a speedboat on the verge of getting sea sick but the adrenaline is keeping you focused."

Following their recent drops ‘Like No Other’ and ‘First Night Fever’, today DZ Deathrays are keeping things simple. From the breadth of acclaim that surrounds the group and their critically acclaimed records, R.I.F.F., Bloody Lovely and twin concept albums Positive Rising: Part 1 and 2, amongst their formative Black Rat and Bloodstreams.
Looking forward, DZ Deathrays are shaking the weight of their monumental career by bringing things back to basics. The group's latest stream of music embraces lighthearted entertainment, creativity and performance, in the spirit of their roots. ABOUT DZ DEATHRAYS
Since their inception, DZ Deathrays have secured a place as one of the most recognisable names in modern Australian rock, initially propelled by the roaring success of their debut album Bloodstreams, which became synonymous with their thunderous sound. They evolved with a more refined edge on their sophomore release, Black Rat, expanding beyond their garage rock origins into an award-winning powerhouse, touring globally and supporting major acts like The Foo Fighters, Ratatat, Biffy Clyro, and Grinspoon. Alongside these monumental tours, DZ Deathrays have headlined iconic venues like The Tivoli, The Enmore, and The Forum.
Beloved by a dedicated fanbase for their deft blend of technical skill and mischievous energy, DZ Deathrays have amassed an impressive list of festival performances, playing at Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, and St. Jerome’s Laneway, along with international stages like SXSW, Reading, and Leeds Festival. Their music has consistently resonated with fans, earning multiple entries in triple j’s Hottest 100. With recent LPs like R.I.F.F. and Bloody Lovely, as well as the critically celebrated twin concept albums Positive Rising: Part 1 and Part 2, DZ Deathrays, composed of Shane Parsons, Simon Ridley, and Lachlan Ewbank, remain a vital force in the music scene.
