“The full on energy of The Stooges, the sass of New York Dolls and that old school DIY punk approach, this is a band free from the constraints of the music industry” - SHINDIG! Magazine
“They could steal the show from any headliner” - Louder than War
FRUIT TONES is a rock & roll gang from Manchester. Nothing artificial - this is the real deal. Real music played by real people for real reasons. No budget. No gimmicks. No nothing. They’re the kinda guys The Shangri-La’s sang about - true professional amateurs!
They strike again with “Easy Peelers”, their upcoming third album via Berlin’s legendary Alien Snatch! Records. Louder, faster and raw as ever before, they once again leave us asking HOW does someone so casually churn out hit-after-hit-after-hit?!
Tom Harrison’s deep blue melodic and downright infectious songwriting backed up by the raw power of Tomas Walmsley (drums) and CJ Wood (bass) continues to carve out a spot all of it’s own amongst the titans of the rock & roll underground. Morphing tales of the daily grind, armed robbery, headaches and heartaches into a glitter coated blast of ultra catchy garage punk ’n’ roll, this is music to live to - they promise nothing but deliver yet another life affirming dose of rock & roll salvation, straight out of a John Waters montage. Your cha-cha heels will be soaken wet in no time!
Mostly self-recorded, produced and mixed in an old Manchester cotton mill and mastered by Mikey Young of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, it’s all there - Buddy Holly’s hiccups, blown-out licks that’d make Chuck Berry blush, Dr Feelgood's steam-rollin’ pub rock energy, ghosts of early country and blues all on top of their wonky honky-tonk choogle.
Ahead of the new album, the band share a video for the title track, “Easy Peeler”. The video - filmed by bassist CJ Wood on tour in Australia - features cameos from Australian punk royalty including Delivery, Gee Tee, Drunk Mums and Vintage Crop amongst others. Spot them all!
Harrison says of the song: “This is one of those songs that just appeared out of thin air, like it was with us the whole time. This record was mostly written out of ideas formed on the road touring the last one and this song pulled it all together as the title track and made sense with the footage from our first trip to Australia. It’s amazing how far it can take you but hard to keep it on the tracks, that’s what Easy Peeler’s all about, you roll with the flow or get washed away.”

Previous albums ‘Natural Selection’ and ‘Pink Wafer Factory’ took the three piece from Manchester to the world with countless tours across Europe, up and down both coasts of America, a slot at Willy Nelson’s Luck Reunion festival, sharing the stage with heroes Flamin' Groovies and The Gories and even a Marshall headphones collaboration alongside Iggy Pop. Championed by Marc Riley, the Fruits have been in constant rotation on BBC 6 music including 3 live sessions over the past year and writing and recording the current jingle for the Riley & Coe show.
Along with the new album the Fruit Tones never ending choogle rolls on with a three week November headline tour of Europe and UK shows announced alongside Sub Pop’s BBC 6 music darlings The Bug Club and Sydney’s main stage destroyers Gee Tee. Full tour details below… The factory floor is coming to you and it’s rigged to blow. Ask for a good time, I give you Fruit Tones - the hit that won't quit!
