Meet AFTERDRIVE - the four-piece from Ipswich quickly becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new bands. Gaining momentum in the alternative / pop scene, rising band AFTERDRIVE have released their latest single, Necklace and it is available to stream everywhere now (listen here).
A charged, emotionally raw track that captures the band’s signature sound with a new level of intensity, Necklace is equal parts anthemic and intimate. “Necklace feels like a statement,” the band shares. “It is more driven, more physical, and intimate, exploring passion in its rawest sense. It still has that AFTERDRIVE sound but with a different kind of energy that we know our fans will love.”
Necklace builds on AFTERDRIVE’s reputation for crafting songs that are both deeply personal and sonically adventurous. The track highlights the band’s continued evolution, showcasing their ability to push boundaries while staying true to the sound that’s quickly making them a name to watch. Necklace is the first in a run of brand-new music from AFTERDRIVE, with an EP and more to be announced soon.
The release follows a huge year for AFTERDRIVE, who have risen from local shows to earning regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, and most recently, supporting Ed Sheeran at one of his sold-out hometown shows at Ipswich’s Portman Road Stadium. Known for their melodic hooks and high-energy performances, the band are building a loyal following and showing no signs of slowing down. Following their electric support slot with The K’s, AFTERDRIVE announced their local, headline show, taking place at The Waterfront Studio on January 31st, as part of Independent Venue Week. What started as jam sessions between siblings Ben Watts (Vocals) and Joe Watts (Drums) quickly showed its potential to be so much more. Joined by best friends Ed Ruff (Bass) and Luke Ellis (Guitar), AFTERDRIVE are a tight-knit, energetic band armed with a constantly evolving set of highly memorable songs delivered in their unique style.
