Heartsick release new single ‘Debt to Pay’

Michigan’s Heartsick are once again bringing their unique brand of heavy and industrial sound aptly labeled DARKNUCORE with their newest video and song release, Debt to Pay. The song centers around the running theme of the struggles DIY bands face trying to break through the noise of the underground and the at times harmful ideology of paying your dues.

A push back on the idea that “paying your dues” is somehow synonymous with a band’s worth inside the music industry gates and the amount is never seemingly enough. What are you willing to do for your art? How much should artists need to collect in paid debt before they are deemed profitable? Who makes the rules and determines the so-called currency?

Filmed by Wombatfire (Billy Strings, Post Malone, Bad Wolves, Asking Alexandria etc.) Recorded, Mixed, Engineered, and produced by Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Varials, Attila, etc.)  the band dive head first into the heaviest parts of their sound. Crushing syncopated guitar riffs and call and response vocals between vocalist Alfonso Civile and Drummer Barak Haring.

The band will be heading out with Nonpoint and Upon A Burning Body late August in support of the second leg of the Painful Statements tour and have a list of shows and through the summer and late fall.
