Represented by Decent Music PR, genre-blurring, swagger-filled, and unapologetically honest, JOSH FR3DA announces the release of his debut EP Turn Him Loose, now streaming on all major platforms. Anchored by the electrifying and cheeky focus track, “Does My Ass Look Good in These Pants?”, the record is a bold musical entrance for a rising artist with something to say—and plenty of soul to say it.
Melding country grit, rock flair, and alternative blues swagger, Turn Him Loose delivers a sound that lands somewhere between Queen and Shania Twain, with the emotional depth of Bonnie Raitt and the arena-ready energy of Aerosmith. FR3DA’s storytelling is as fearless as it is fun, serving up tracks that explore coming out, body image, identity, and self-love.
The focus track, “Does My Ass Look Good in These Pants?”, is a strut-worthy anthem that fuses sass and substance. It’s playful, magnetic, and impossible not to move to—an ode to owning one’s body and finding joy in the mirror, set to a beat that would make both Freddie Mercury and Faith Hill smile.
“My music turns up the volume on stuff we normally don’t talk about, including self-doubt, gratuitous sex, and doing the work to make sense of, and even embrace, discomfort”, says JOSH FR3DA. “This EP is me singing out loud what I need to hear myself. If it resonates with someone else, awesome. We’re in this thing together.”
After a serendipitous moment at a work event in 2018, FR3DA began vocal training and never looked back. By 2021, a chance showcase in Chicago led to a Nashville partnership with top-tier writers and musicians, including Brian Maher, Holly Lamar, Lonnie Wilson, and Jenee Fleenor. He made history as the first openly gay artist to record at Wilson’s Franklin studio.
FR3DA’s authenticity and genre-defying sound place him in league with icons like Maren Morris, The Chicks, and Hootie & the Blowfish—artists who bend expectations and speak truth through harmony.
Turn Him Loose is a celebration of freedom, fearlessness, and fierce identity. With heart, humor, and a whole lot of hooks, JOSH FR3DA has arrived.
