Manchester punks Loose Articles are thrilled to reveal a new collaborative single ‘Marseille Manchester (In The Area)’ with French rap artist Nadir will be released on 7” vinyl on 10th October 2025 via ESTAK Productions and Alcopop! Records.

Commenting on the track, the band say: “We were asked to contribute to this song celebrating the similarities between the cities of Manchester and Marseille. Both cities are alike with their keen passion for music and football and we wanted to bring the fun and our ‘get the party started’ atmosphere to the track as we do with our own music. The collaboration was made possible by many late-night discussions in hotel bars in both cities with our French producers. This song is the result of that. Watch out for Loose Articles In The Area in Marseille and Nadir In The Area in Manchester very soon!”

“Loose Articles and Nadir? What a great collaboration,” adds Nadir of the project. “This track is gonna be an anthem for sure!”

The band are also delighted to announce that they will support PINS and HOUSE Of ALL (featuring ex members of The Fall) this autumn, with further live dates also on sale now, see below for listings.

An alliance between Manchester-based Loose Articles and Marseille-based rapper Nadir, the new single is a celebration of the ties that bind the two cities, following a chance meeting at Beyond The Music in October 2023 with new French label ESTAK Productions.

Mancophiles with a passion for the Manchester music scene, The Hacienda, and Tony Wilson, label owners Max and Gerald had already enrolled French rapper Nadir for the song celebrating the connection between Marseilles and Manchester, and were looking for a band from the region to contribute vocals—after seeing Loose Articles’ notoriously thrilling live set, they were hooked.

At Beyond The Music 2024, ESTAK met with Pete Brazier (The Beatmasters) which then started discussions about a potential remix, which came to fruition earlier this year.

Recorded at “Manchester’s best loved recording studio” Blueprint Studios, the band also shot footage for the single’s official video at the studio, as well as finding time for an on-location jaunt to Marseille, with the track already picking up a high profile sync on a Mitsubishi TV advert in France.

As a part of this project, ESTAK Productions recently contributed funds to the Tony Wilson Archive Exhibition GoFundMe, set up by Wilson’s son Oliver, with the exhibition now showing at the Smolensky Gallery in Manchester and due to move to Paris and Marseille later this year, cementing that bond between music scenes, and more importantly people, across the UK and Europe on a deeper level.

To celebrate the news, the remix by legendary electronic music duo The Beatmasters is being shared today. Out now and available to stream on all good digital service providers, the remix is currently sitting at #17 in the Upfront Club Top 30 Chart.

On the remix, Pete Brazier and Paul Carter of The Beatmasters said: “Like Manchester and Marseille, this track is a nonstop party. It was a pleasure to remix and add some Beatmasters magic to its already wild foundations and we’re so pleased with the result—Nadir and the girls’ presence leading the way with some forward thinking electronic music. We’re beyond proud of how the tune turned out. It was a wild ride doing it, but definitely worth the blood sweat and tears. One of our best!”

Following the release of their long-awaited debut album, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, in 2024 (Alcopop! Records), Loose Articles have since found themselves on a dream run of coveted support slots with the likes of New Order, Foo Fighters, The Lovely Eggs, Gang of Four, and Lambrini Girls.

Earlier this year the band completed their Arts Council England-funded Kick Like A Girl Extra Time! touring project—with BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Emily Pilbeam as special ambassador—and secured a riotous last minute appearance at TRUCK Festival last month.

The band are currently working on their second album.

More about Loose Articles:

Specialising in discordant, hypnotic repetition, tales of nights out, and radical politics, Loose Articles are a punk quartet with plenty to say. Their music speaks to all those determined to get through the age of austerity with tongue in cheek, and two feet firmly on the dancefloor. Plying repetition (repetition, repetition…) with ragged edges and a sardonic, sarcastic drawl delivered with fierce, in your face, punk-fueled attitude, both feminine & threatening, Loose Articles are here to make a point.

Already heavily championed by Steve Lamacq at 6 Music (where they’ve also seen strong support from Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson and Amy Lamé) the band have also picked up love from John Kennedy at Radio X, appearing on the Evening Playlist, and have appeared on Spotify’s The Punk List.

Elsewhere they’ve been covered by NME as one of The NME 100 list, endorsed by punk- friendly fashion labels Fred Perry Subculture and Underground England, named as one of Under The Radar Magazine’s 22 for 2022, and have appeared on Football Focus as keen amateur pundits and fans of the beautiful game. Kick Like A Girl was released around the Women’s 2022 Euros, with Shoot Music supporting key sporting playlists - alongside a request from Dave Grohl to support the Foo Fighters in Manchester.

Loose Articles released their debut EP Chaos in  2022 and followed up with 2023 single, ‘Sinead Loves Bitcoin’, which saw continued support from Craig Charles at 6music, Louder Than War, Distorted Sound Magazine and more.

In 2025, the band are looking to build on a busy couple of years which saw them embark on their Arts Council England funded Kick Like A Girl headline tour, offering intimate access and entry-level insights into the music business to young women (14 - 25) from underrepresented backgrounds, all whilst supporting grassroots venues and northern creatives. The band revived the project in Spring 2025 with Kick Like A Girl Extra Time!

LA have also supported Gang Of Four on their UK headline dates, appeared at Long Division, 2000 Trees, and Rebellion festivals, as well as a run of EU tour dates supporting LA punk/funk quintet Thumpasaurus, alongside a coveted support slot with fellow Mancunians and post-punk legends New Order at SXSW Festival.

The quartet have also had a line up reshuffle with new drummer Rachel Williams (Peaness) taking over from Abbi Phillips (She Drew The Gun, PINS), plus the addition of synth, guitar and additional percussion by Anna Reed.
