Lord Jane Announce Explosive New Single, "Kaleidoscopes"
Following the success of their debut EP Tulips, Lord Jane is excited to announce the release of their powerful new single, ‘Kaleidoscopes.' The single marks the first release since their debut and highlights the band’s development into unshackled sounds and emotive lyricism.
2024 saw Lord Jane “pinned for very big things” (RTE2FM) with Tulips capturing their groove-driven, experimental sound, live without clicks at Analogue Catalogue Recording Studio. Known for delivering “Godzilla-sized hooks and irresistible grooves” (Hot Press), the band captured raw, unfiltered energy across the EP, and Kaleidoscopes is set to continue that tradition, pushing the boundaries of their music further.
‘Kaleidoscopes’ finds Lord Jane expanding their palette, blending dynamic contrasts with a palpitating groove that drives the verses. Frontwoman Clodagh May’s reflective and emotive vocals guide listeners through the hypnotic pre-chorus, before exploding into an electrifying chorus. The track’s dreamy bridge, highlighted by soft guitars, quickly transitions into an infectiously absurd metrical shifting groove before reaching a crushing, high-octane finale.
While Tulips centered on inward themes of mental health, trauma, and personal reflection, ‘Kaleidoscopes’ shifts its gaze outward, offering a broader reflection on how perspectives evolve as we navigate the chaos of the world. The track explores themes of growth, change, and the impact of our surroundings on our inner world.
“‘Kaleidoscopes’ is inspired by all that is wrong with the world in this epidemic of oppression and systematic violence. It’s a love letter to our childhood innocence and how simple the world looks through our privileged, rainbow tinted eyes. Written out of anger and frustration at how little we can do except watch on with tears in our eyes, we hope ‘Kaleidoscopes’ serves as a thought provoking message to anyone who hears it.” - Clodagh May (Vocalist)
Recorded once again at Analogue Catalogue Recording Studio, Kaleidoscopes showcases the tight chemistry of the band. With bassist Carl Small taking on recording and mixing duties, the single was produced independently, capturing an authentic snapshot of Lord Jane’s creative vision without outside influence. This release paves the way for a new chapter in the band’s journey, with their upcoming 2nd EP later this year.
