‘Mountain peaks brought noise, atmosphere and intensity in
equal measure’ - Feats.live
mountain peaks are a three piece emo / post-hardcore trio based in Norwich. Known for their strong stage presence, intense dual vocals and melodic, hard-hitting songs. They integrate a variety of styles, from midwest emo style twinkly guitars to skramz vocals and elements. Influences include the likes of algae bloom and Suis La Lune, alongside Touche Amore and La Dispute. Mountain peaks have been making a name for themselves throughout the country with their strong work ethic and drive, which has gained them shows in 14 different cities and towns in 2025 alone. Notable support slots include shows with bands such as your arms are my cocoon, Del Paxton and staples in the UK scene such as Indifferent Engine, The Grey, Underdark and Wreathe.
Their new EP ‘what could have been (i could have been more)’ signifies a new direction for the band. With a new drummer and songwriter on board, the four tracks symbolise a shift. The EP centres around the idea of envy and letting other peoples’ goals affect your own life, and the toll that takes on your mental state. Interwoven within this are themes of the seasons changing - the seasons change, and so can I. The artwork, music video and marketing all follow the theme of travel and incorporate aspects of all the different places we’ve travelled and the people we’ve met.
Sonically, the EP also is a change of direction. The tracks are more melody and vocally lead than previous work, as heard in i am not happy (with losing) and a bed of my own making. Tracks however like amber and red and jesień bring intensity and power with skramz style vocals and relentless guitars overlaid and powerful basslines.
The band have been playing these songs live to audiences across the country to a great reception, integrating them into the older set. The band are looking to release this EP physically and would be highly interested in working with a label to make this happen. The push at the end of 2025, into 2026 is to promote this EP with radioplay, press reviews and of course, playing as many shows in new areas.
