Pete Briley - New Single "Copenhagen" Out Now!

Singer-songwriter Pete Briley is set to release his evocative new single “Copenhagen”, the fourth offering from his highly anticipated second album. Steeped in the wistfulness of modern nomadism, the track is set to arrive on 31st July with an accompanying music video drawn from Briley’s own globe-trotting archives.

The inspiration for “Copenhagen” emerged during a quiet moment of reflection in a bustling Copenhagen airport. “I realised I’d passed through that airport over a dozen times but never stepped foot in the city itself,” Briley says. “I was always just a ghost—present, but never rooted.”

That fleeting sense of presence grew into a broader meditation on transience. From countless tour stops to landmark life experiences, Briley’s life has often unfolded in motion. 2025 alone saw him run the Tokyo Marathon, perform at SXSW in Austin, and tour the UK with The Outlaw Orchestra—all before he had a chance to take it all in. “It felt like life was racing past me, just like the song. That’s when I knew it was time to let it go.”

“Copenhagen” was produced with long-time collaborator Jonny Moody at Mood Market Studios, whose shimmering, sun-washed style brings the perfect polish to Briley’s heartfelt storytelling. The track is paired with a visual collage of footage from Denmark, Sweden, Japan and Texas—a visual diary of Briley’s year on the move.

With its cinematic spirit and bittersweet intimacy, “Copenhagen” captures the moment you realise you've been everywhere—and nowhere—all at once.
