Rewarding Melody with Jangly Guitars and Rousing Chorus Hooks – The Perfect Summer Anthem: Sam Lambeth – "When You Take That Train"
“His style is one of a breezy radio-friendly Americana pop. There are shades of Ryan Adams, touches of Sam Fender, and surging choruses that should get the people singing along arm in arm.” – Louder than War

And 2025 looks set to be yet another successful year for Sam Lambeth with his new music release of ‘When You Take That Train’.
Sam says that with this track he has taken influence from his long-standing love of power pop and from timeless music greats such as Teenage Fanclub through to the more current popular music from the likes of Sam Fender, Haim and Stereophonics, making this a truly timeless offering with maximum appeal.
He has further said of the track:-
“This was the first ‘good’ song that I wrote, when I was about 15. I was deeply into melodic ‘90s stuff at that time, like The Lemonheads, Teenage Fanclub and R.E.M., so I wanted to write something with that kind of earnest jangle. I’ve kept it to one side for a while but it felt the right time to dust it off. The first song I ever learned on guitar was ‘The Circle’ by Ocean Colour Scene and I think there’s a bit of that vibe in there.”
‘When You Take That Train’ is a rewarding melody filled with relatable pop sensibilities. With its jangly guitars and gentle drum licks in the verses it has a real nostalgic, hazy vibe to it. Coupled with those chorus hooks that build and climb into an impressive crescendo, this really is the perfect summer anthem made for crowds to sing and dance along to.
‘When You Take That Train’ features Sam Lambeth on Vocals, Guitar and Bass and Ryan Pinson on Drums. The Track was written and composed by Sam Lambeth and was recorded at RML Studios, Wolverhampton with Ryan Pinson (producer / mixer), who has also produced prominent local acts such as Little Juke and The Assist.
‘When You Take That Train’ is being released on Freaked Out and Small Records on the 16th May 2025.
