The Empire Police Share Single 'Habitual'
‘Habitual’ is the gut-punching, unapologetic new single from Preston-based alternative rock band The Empire Police.
The first release from their forthcoming EP, slated for October, this new anthem is a combination of irresistible riffs, in-your-face hooks, and intricate drum patterns. Since 2016, The Empire Police have made instantly captivating music, with their newest offering destined to have listeners hooked from start to finish with its introspective lyrics, dynamic tonal shifts, and raw, unbridled energy.
Frontman Jordao Bassa says:
> “The track centres around the theme of feeling trapped in an endless cycle, a web of your own making, through bad habits, questionable decisions and short-sightedness, and the realisation that over time you’ve begun to recognise yourself less and less.”
The track was recorded, produced, and mixed by the band’s guitarist Tom Hale, and mastered by Graeme Lynch of TwoZeroNine.
Alongside Jordao and Tom are bassist Sam Makepeace and drummer Harry Smith, whose rhythm section is the driving force behind the track.
After an 18-month hiatus from releasing music, ‘Habitual’ is a return to form for The Empire Police, and just a taste of what’s to come from their much-anticipated EP.
