Rising alt-pop singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tonia (pronounced Toe-knee-a) releases her brand new single ‘Right On’ - a moving exploration of friendship and the weight of people-pleasing. Written and produced with long-time London-based collaborator Sfven, the track offers the latest glimpse of her forthcoming EP ‘Songs We Wrote in Norfolk’, arriving 29th October 2025 on Ripe Records. Listen to ‘Right On’ [HERE].

Speaking of the single, Tonia says, “‘Right On’ is an ode to my people-pleasing and overthinking tendencies, and the quiet exhaustion that comes with trying to hold everything together. It’s a love letter to long distance friends, showing up for the people you love even if these relationships can leave you second guessing.

Born into a family of pianists, pop-lovers, Dad rock fans (and even a touring opera singer grandmother!), Tonia was classically trained and played the viola and violin in orchestras until she was 20. With her music intentionally designed to linger, this thoughtful creative describes her sound as “alternative pop with an emo twinge”. After studying at LIPA, Tonia was awarded the prestigious PPL Momentum Music Fund, recognising her as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists. Alongside her music, she also hosts a monthly show on Voices Radio, spotlighting young creatives at the start of their careers.

Previous singles such as ‘Cut the Cloth, Didn’t I’ and ‘Serenity’ have been championed by BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, and BBC Introducing, with hosts like Sian Elari and Jack Saunders praising her ability to delicately create “moments of sunshine and warmth.”Tonia has graced national stages at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Kendal Calling, Dot To Dot Festival, and Liverpool Sound City, as well as support slots for NYC’s Say She She. This autumn, fans can catch her live at The Strongroom (3rd September) and The Grace (20th September) ahead of the release of her new EP. Find out more on these shows, linked here.

Due for release on 29th October, Songs We Wrote in Norfolk was created alongside her best friend and long-time collaborator Zander. Embracing the art of collaboration at its most honest, the project offers an intimate glimpse into music that pairs sharp emotional insight with Tonia’s uniquely tender delivery.
