Vienna Return With Energy-Packed Lead Single "Half Past Rad" - Blending Midwest-Emo with Pop-Punk

Vienna are back and louder than ever with their new single “Half Past Rad”, out August 2025. The track is the beginning of a new chapter for the rising UK Midwest emo outfit, acting as the first single since their debut EP Street Fighter II, released early 2025

Energetic, tongue-in-cheek, and emotionally earnest, Half Past Rad bridges the DIY charm of Vienna’s 2025 EP Sleep Fighter II with their evolving sound and maturity. Packed with punchy riffs, honest lyrics, and a classic audio clip to kick things off, the track leans into the pop-punk spirit while remaining rooted in their West Midlands Emo DNA.

“It’s no secret that we’ve been in the studio recently, and if you’ve been to one of our shows - you’ll have heard a lot of new material. We feel Half Past Rad gives the best impression of what our sound has evolved into,” says the band. “It’s a step forward — but it still feels like us.”

Musically, the track draws from bands like Origami Angel and Prince Daddy & the Hyena, delivering a wall of guitars and clever self-deprecation. Beneath the playful delivery is a core message about trying to stay afloat in the day-to-day, without sinking in the pressure. Half Past Rad sets the tone for what’s to come
