DÄÄCHT (formerly Kolossus Däächt) release sophomore album “Crying Houses”

DÄÄCHT ( former Kolossus Däächt ) from Regensburg deliver creative post and garage punk and feed this sound with influences from hardcore punk, psychedelic rock, indie and many other elements of subcultural guitar music. What reads like a wild mix of genres turns out to be authentic and energetic songs that always have a surprise in store and yet never lose their catchiness.

The relentlessly grooving and fuzz-drenched bass, forms a repetitive unit with the drums and serves as the perfect foundation for the furiously distorted riffs and delay-driven melodies of the guitar. The diverse and distinctive vocals pick up perfectly on the instrumental motives and draw a golden thread through the band's songscape. This colorful sound provides a perfect environment for a wide variety of narratives. The lyrics are often cynical, self-critical towards the narrator himself and in despair of society and its status quo. Nevertheless, there is a subtle humor here and there, which almost gives you hope again.

DÄÄCHT defines itself as a live band. Anyone who has already had the pleasure of seeing them live on stage, will most likely not forget it so swiftly. It's hard to resist the band's unbridled energy and sincere joy of playing live on stage. Each song played, the band merges more and more with the audience. And it doesn't matter if you're at a club show or a big festival. Since their formation in 2017, the bands played in countless clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as at festivals like Krach am Bach, VOID Fest, Stoned From The Underground, Rock im Wald, the Olympia Stadion in Munich and many more.

In their brief history, the band has already had the opportunity to share the stage with heavy hitters such as The Osees, Wytch, The Vibrators, Dirty Fences, Unsane, The Wytches, The Underground Youth, Rattengold, Steal Shit Do Drugs, Deeper, Raw Side, Pabst, 24/7 Diva Heaven, Culk, Team Scheiße, Ignite, Loikemie, Alarmsignal and Toxoplasma and has already been on the road as tour support for Akne Kid Joe.

The band fully surrenders to the DIY-spirit. From music production to booking, promotion and visual aesthetics, nearly everything is done by the members themselves. DÄÄCHT released their debut album "Lipstick Love" in spring 2020 (just as the Corona Pandemic broke out), which received consistently positive reviews from the music press. Currently the band is working on their second album which is expected to be released in 2024.

The four permanent members Clement Hoffer (vocals), Dennis Scheffer (guitar), Benedikt Bartl (bass) and Simon Schuster (drums) have been and are still active in projects such as Kondor, Limestone Whale, Black Voodoo Train, Silverdolls, The Wullfs and Dysis. As members of the VOID collective they organize several smaller shows and the VOID Fest, which is well known in the scene.
