LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Emerging from the indie rock scene, Holdover Holiday dropped their new EP, "Douglass," on September 25, 2025. "Douglass" is a 6-song EP of which "Allie Lie," is quickly becoming a fan favorite. The rousing two-and-a-halfminute track captures the feeling of navigating guilt associated with cheating, blending infectious melodies with raw, driving instrumentation.

"Allie Lie" sees Holdover Holiday establishing their sound, featuring melodic and retro guitars, '80s-alt vocals, a punchy rhythm section, and a soaring, anthemic chorus. The song’s tight structure and straightforward arrangement (with a hint of punk influence), make it an immediate earworm, perfectly showcasing the band's talent for crafting hooks that are both catchy and emotional.

The track’s title hints at its lyrical core, which explores the complexity of deceit within a close relationship.

“We started writing 'Allie Lie' based on hearing some drama that was going on in a friend's love life. He happened to be a freshman in college who was dating a 17-year-old, and we took liberties to create a scandalous story."
