Spike Polite & Sewage release new live LP “Overflow In The Gowanus”

Spike Polite & Sewage have released their latest LP, Overflow In The Gowanus, digitally on December 11th, 2025. Produced by Randall Steffes for SewerLid Music, the release captures the underground New York punk band in their natural habitat — on stage.

Overflow In The Gowanus is a live recording of the band’s set performed at Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn. The release is intended to highlight Spike Polite & Sewage as a fully active live band, showcasing their ability to deliver raw, high-energy performances and get out on the road.

The band previously released the EP Punk Not Dead on January 15, 2024. Produced by Ted Sabety, the EP is available on 12″ vinyl via Solidbassrecord and was previewed with the single “Florida.” The release encapsulates the quintessential New York punk sound, rooted firmly in the genre’s history.

Characterised by swift tempos, East Coast-style vocals, and driving guitar riffs, Punk Not Dead channels the raw energy of 80s and 90s punk while remaining relevant to a contemporary audience.

Spike Polite & Sewage are a writing, recording, and touring punk rock band from New York City, with roots stretching back to the 1990s. During that period, the band performed regularly at CBGB, releasing records and building their reputation through live shows.

With Overflow In The Gowanus reinforcing their status as a live act, the band continues to look ahead to further performances, releases, and wider exposure for their music.
